The riverlines series of readings is a collaborative venture with City Screen - who provide the venue in their basement bar - and Literature Studies at York St John.

We have appreciated support in the past from the Arts Council and from C4C (Collaboration for Creativity), York St John University's Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. We are currently supported by the Faculty of Arts at York St John University. Riverlines was managed by Elizabeth Sandie, Senior Lecturer in Literature Studies at YSJ until 2008. The event series is currently coordinated by Barrie Sherwood, Lecturer in Literature Studies at YSJ. The management team includes Tony Clarke from City Screen; freelance writers Pat Borthwick and Paul Mills; and Gweno Williams, director of C4C.

If these events have whetted your appetite for contemporary Literature, York St John University offers opportunities to study creative writing and contemporary literature at undergraduate and post graduate levels. We welcome mature students, and it is also possible to join individual modules as associate students. Click on the York St John icon to find out more.

Our website was designed by Will Brady initially as part of a work placement on our innovative skills module, Working with Words. We would like to thank Will and Lauren of JinkDesign for their work in developing the site.

We acknowledge the support of The Arts Council during riverlines' early years, and the support of C4C (Collaboration for Creativity), York St John University's Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
